Biography As a professional fundraiser with a special place in my heart for education, I am thrilled to be here at Crane! For the last nine years, I have been raising money for UCSB – five years in the School of Education and four years in the Humanities and Fine Arts division. Before that, I was fundraising for the Valley Cultural Center, a non-profit arts-based organization in the Los Angeles area. Parallel to my professional activities in Development, I also have an academic profile. While working on my PhD in Education, I researched various topics: how jazz musicians learn to improvise, how consumers learn patterns of shopping, and how fifth graders negotiate common understandings of classroom language. My wife, Christina, and I have two precious children. Ben, who is fifteen, is a talented filmmaker and fearless skateboarder. Emma, who is seven, enjoys playing piano, gymnastics, and art projects. When I have spare time, I enjoy playing guitar, reading, and traveling. The more people I meet from our Crane community, the happier I am to be at this school. If we haven’t met yet, please consider yourself invited to drop by my office and say hello! |
