Crane’s Admissions Team works year-round in preparation for a successful admissions season. We are committed to providing prospective families with as much information as possible so as to make the process straightforward and uncomplicated. From your first meeting and tour of the Crane campus, to our Admissions Coffee, Open House and Upper School Info Night, we have a variety of ways for inquiring families to become familiar with Crane. We believe that the more you know about our community, the more educated of a choice you can make regarding whether Crane is a suitable fit for your family. Director of Admission, Debbie Williams, and Admissions Assistant, Julia Davis, are here to answer any questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to call or email. We enjoy getting to know your family throughout the admissions process, and hope you have a good experience working with Crane’s Admissions Team. Director of Admission- Debbie Williams
During this time at Crane, I have taught First Grade and Second Grade, was Head of Lower School, was acting Head of School for 6 months, and now am entering my twentieth year as Crane’s Director of Admission. I was also a Crane parent for twelve years. I grew up in Orange County and found my way to Santa Barbara by way of attending UCSB for both my BA and my teaching credential. After graduating, I was determined to stay in this beautiful city. For seven years, my husband and I struggled to make it work, and boy are we glad we persevered! No matter what my role has been at Crane, I have always cherished the students, parents, and especially the collegiality of my fellow faculty and staff members. It is a very special environment to be in on a daily basis; there is no place I’d rather be! Admissions Assistant–Julia Davis
Since joining the “staffulty” at Crane, I have been able to participate in all aspects of the Crane community. From Trip Week, to Discoveries, to Spring Study Week and Girls Basketball, I love that Crane encourages me to go beyond my “job description.” I enjoy getting involved, so I can give first hand experience to the prospective families I talk to every day. I am thrilled to be a part of the Admissions team at this fabulous school!
