Lower School Math Specialist (Part-Time)

Crane is currently accepting applications for the position of part-time Lower School math specialist for children in Kindergarten through 5th Grades. This position is approximately 50%-time, without benefits, and begins on July 1, 2008.

This part-time position is intended to supplement the work in mathematics accomplished within the regular classrooms by our lead Lower School teachers, and is intended to complement teachers’ work with Everyday Math by creating a math-rich environment in the Lower School and providing teachers with guidance and training in math pedagogy. Additionally, this individual would be teaching a small group of accelerated students on a daily basis. Math in Crane’s Lower School is currently taught in the morning, so this position needs to take place during the first half of the day.

UPPER SCHOOL MATH TEACHER

Education and Experience:
-Master's degree in mathematics or
-Single-subject teaching credential in math
-2 years of exerience with middle school education

Successful candidates will possess the following skills and attributes:

-Excellent interpersonal communication skills (warmth, professionalism, tact)
-Ability to relate well with colleagues, students, and families

This position is full-time, with benefits. Contract and pay begin July 1, 2008. Compensation is $35K-$50K depending on experience and skills.

BOOKKEEPER

Successful candidates will possess the following skills and attributes:
-Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel is a MUST!
-Experience with Payroll software such as Paychex or ADP
-High energy level

-Ability to work in a team environment
-Excellent interpersonal communication skills (professionalism, tact, awareness of confidentiality)
-Ability to relate well with colleagues, students, and families

Education and Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree (preferably in accounting or finance)
-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
-Spanish fluency and experience in a school environment are a plus

Responsibilities include:
*Supporting the work of the Business Manager
*Assisting with human resources matters
*Management and reconciliation of operating and development funds
*Invoicing parents for tuition, donations, and purchases
*Opening the mail and matching, batching, and coding invoices and entering them into QuickBooks
*Collections
*Posting cash deposits
*Entering payroll into the system twice monthly
*Performing bank reconciliations
*Financial planning, reporting, and budgeting
*Month-end and year-end closing
*Working closely with auditor during annual fiscal-year-end audit

This is an ideal position for an ethical and knowledgeable bookkeeper with excellent people skills. Position is full-time, with benefits, and begins on July 14, 2008. Incumbent is on maternity leave; position is temp-to-perm. Compensation is $20-$25 per hour, depending on experience and skills.

ADMISSIONS ASSISTANT

Crane's Admissions Assistant provides support to the Director of Admission through all stages of the admissions process, facilitates special events, and is involved with marketing and public relations for the school; helps maintain the school database and student records (such as grades, transcripts, attendance, and immunizations); and assists with office support tasks as needed.

** Fluency in both written and spoken Spanish is a must **

-Ability to successfully develop and maintain positive relationships with prospective and current families
- Ability to manage a budget and to coordinate closely with the school’s Director of Admission
