Parents for Crane (PFC) FACTS
What is the PFC?
Parents for Crane (PFC) is a group of parents whose mission is to support Crane. The activities in which the PFC is engaged include social events, support for new families, educational opportunities, community outreach, Hot Lunch, liaisons between school departments (Art, Athletics, Drama) and parents, Green activities, teacher and staff support and fundraising. The PFC strives to make Crane an even stronger school by filling in any gap between the current reality and what is needed. Many of the school's most cherished traditions and characteristics (Thanksgiving Feast, Hot Lunch, Spring Auction) originated as PFC ideas, and over time were incorporated into the regular functioning of Crane.
What is the History of the PFC?
The PFC was founded in 1982 by a group of parents. The first President of the PFC is now a faculty member at Crane and served as PFC President for four terms. While the makeup of the PFC and the activities in which it has been engaged over the years has changed, its mission, to support Crane, has remained constant.
How Do I become a Member of the PFC?
All parents are automatically members of this parent support group for Crane. There is no application process or fee.
When and Where Are PFC Meetings?
The PFC holds meetings on the second Tuesday of each month every month school is in session, with the exception of December and June. Meetings are held in the library, with the first meeting held in the Plaza in front of Cate Hall.
What Happens During a PFC Meeting?
The first 15-20 minutes of each meeting consist of PFC related business such as a review of upcoming events, announcements from Chairs, and requests for assistance from various committees. The remaining 40-45 minutes is reserved for presentations by speakers invited by the PFC to present on an array of topics that are of interest to the party body. Refreshments are served.

How Do I Know Who Is A PFC Chair or Executive Committee Member?
A complete slate of PFC Executive Committee members, Chairs, and committees is listed on Moodle, as well as in the Directory. Parents can visit this area to see which parent is in charge of an event and can contact the parent should they wish to be involved. New PFC Chairs and Committee members are recruited each spring to serve the following year. Parents interested in holding a PFC position should contact the PFC President.
How Can I Get Involved with the PFC?
The easiest way to become involved with the PFC is to attend a monthly meeting. At this meeting you can learn more about PFC activities that are upcoming and meet the Chairs and the Executive Committee members. You can also contact any PFC member listed on the Moodle site under PFC Slate to inquire about a committee or offer to help.

What Is eScrip and How Do I Get Involved?

The resulting money is used to support teacher grant requests for travel and educational pursuits over the summer. Information about using eScrip is located on Moodle. In addition, feedback from teachers about their eScrip experiences can also be viewed on Moodle.
