Looking Forward with Purpose
The Path to the Future: People, Programs, and Potential
The 2013 - 2018 strategic plan was created to strengthen the school’s unique position in Santa Barbara and to help better prepare our students for a rapidly changing world. We know, for example, the world will be a very different place by the time our students join the adult workforce. Therefore, it is necessary for the school’s plan to be bold and forward-thinking.
Our goals in this comprehensive strategic plan revolve around people, programs, and potential because we believe that:
- Success comes from having the right people in the right places
- What, when, and how learning occurs is at the very heart of a thriving school
Progress is achieved with a steady focus on planning for a bigger and brighter future
As the 2018/2019 school year comes to an end, so will the current strategic plan. Crane’s Board of Trustees will publish the next strategic plan during the 2019/2020 school year.
Crane’s physical plant is so much more than simply a setting for our school. It is beautiful – and gracefully functional – a place that evokes the spirit of experiential education.
With a revised conditional use permit (CUP) in hand, a new campus master plan was developed and adopted in 2012. The master plan serves as the school’s blueprint for the next fifty years. The parking lot expansion (2014) and Oak Tree Quad complex (2017) embody two projects outlined in the master plan that support the school’s immediate and anticipated needs.
